Amtrak is rolling onto its next sale.

After ending its sale on Roomette tickets Monday, the company announced the return of its USA Rail Pass on Tuesday, which is available to buy through March 29.

For a limited time, the pass is $399 – $100 off the regular price of $499 – and with it, you can take up to 10 rides to many of Amtrak’s 500 destinations. The company said in a news release that the offer makes each ride less than $40.

Last summer, the pass cost $299, which made each ride less than $30.

USA Rail Pass is available for travel in Amtrak’s Coach class and allows up to 10 trips or “travel segments” in a 30-day period beginning with the customer’s first trip and is valid for use within 120 days of pass purchase.

But don’t plan on going back and forth between the same stations for all of your trips.

According to Amtrak, travel is “restricted to two roundtrips (four one-way trips) between the same two stations – as well as all intermediate destinations on the route.”

The pass also is not your ticket and you’ll still need to book reservations for each trip after you purchase the pass, Amtrak said.
