The Arizona Freedom Caucus has released the following statement:
Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs is actively impeding the freedom of Arizona families to access the best possible educational opportunities for their children as prescribed by Arizona law. If families are to qualify for first quarter universal ESA funding, they must apply no later than September 30th; however, Secretary Hobbs’ continued delay in executing her duties is denying tens of thousands of children of our state access to the education best suited to their unique needs.
Arizona Freedom Caucus Chairman, Rep. Jake Hoffman, says that the solution here is simple. Hoffman went on to say:
“Katie Hobbs needs to stop playing politics with the education of Arizona children. She has made very clear that her position is aligned with the extremist anti-children, pro-government view of the democrat party, that we should fund failing systems rather than students and that bureaucrats know better than parents. The people of this state disagree, however, and now the Arizona Freedom Caucus is demanding that Katie Hobbs immediately reject the insufficient referendum petition, so that families—your constituents—can have certainty in their children’s ability to access the education of their choosing this school year.”
