When Davante Adams joined the Las Vegas Raiders this spring, it shocked many. But the Pro Bowler has clear intentions after leaving Green Bay and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Adams reunites with quarterback Derek Carr, his teammate at Fresno State. But beyond that, there was a clear purpose for the eight-year veteran to go west.

“You know what’s on my mind, I ain’t come here just to be cute and hang out with Derek and all of that,” Adams said Wednesday on an episode of The Pivot podcast. “I want to get that trophy at the end of the year.”

During the interview, the wide receiver wore a Born X Raised hoodie commemorating the Raider’s three Super Bowl championships. The franchise hasn’t been to the Super Bowl since the 2002 season and hasn’t won the Lombardi Trophy since the 1983 season when they were in Los Angeles.

The Packers, meanwhile, went to the playoffs in all but two of the seasons while Adams was there — including four NFC championship game appearances. But Green Bay fell short of the title game Adams said he’s working for.

“In eight years, I wasn’t able to get one,” he said, “but we had some really successful seasons and we did things, it just wasn’t able to get it done.”

When asked if the excitement of Las Vegas lured him to the city, Adams said he is looking forward to getting out of the small community of Green Bay where he was recognized everywhere. He joked that his $141.25 million deal will help him maintain his quiet lifestyle.

“I might go to a casino and do something where it’s a private type deal,” Adams said. “But everything I like to do, I’m low key I don’t really like people knowing what I’m up to.”
