Lisbon’s 40th anniversary as a Tree City USA was celebrated this week when staffers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry stopped by to present the village with a special flag. More than 70 trees have been planted in the village over the last two years. Countless trees have been trimmed or taken down when needed. From left, village Fiscal Officer and Shade Tree Board Member Tracey Wonner, ODNR Regional Forester Lola Lewis, Village Tax Administrator and Shade Tree Board Member Barb Crane, and ODNR Forester Jasmine Pierce hold the new flag. The new flag will be flown from the Village Hall flag pole. Lisbon is one of only three Tree Cities USA in Columbiana County.
